Welcome to the Office of Institutional Equity & Compliance
Maryville University is committed to fostering and maintaining an environment that is free from all forms of prohibited discrimination and harassment where community members are treated with dignity and respect. Maryville University strongly prohibits all forms of harassment and discrimination.
The Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC) oversees and reviews all concerns related to harassment and discrimination involving a member of the Maryville community based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, sex (pregnancy), gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, veteran status, age or any other status protected by federal, state, and local laws and under the University’s Sexual Harassment Policy (Title IX), Policy Against Harassment, Discrimination and Retaliation and Complaint Resolution Procedures, and the University Student Code of Conduct.
Sexual harassment includes quid pro quo and hostile environment sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
As part of our commitment to our values and standards of conduct, Maryville has established a university-wide Compliance Program. This program falls under the scope of the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC) and is managed by the Director of Institutional Compliance.
All equity and compliance related concerns can be reported to OIEC in person, via phone, emails, and/or online reporting as listed below.
